American Center Langoliers

I had to go over to the new UW Health American Center building yesterday morning to gather some information for some documentation work. The data collecting ended up being a bit of a dud, but I got to see the brand spanking new hospital facility, which does not open to the public until next Monday.

I was reminded of one of the ending scenes in Stephen King's "The Langoliers."

The main characters end up in an airport slightly in the future and the people of the present have not yet arrived. So everything is shiny and empty and new, unsullied by the wear and tear of the present.
That is what the pre-operational American Center reminded me of. Waiting for the future.
